Ideas are easy.
Execution is hard.
So what does it actually take to turn a product idea into a successful Kickstarter campaign?
In this episode of the Crowdfunding Demystified podcast, Salvador Briggman talks with Dori Topaz, founder of Livwell Brands, about the Kickstarter campaign for SmoqeX, an all-in-one indoor pellet smoker, air fryer, and grill.
Dori spent about two years developing and testing the product before launching. He used Kickstarter not only to raise money, but also to validate the idea, build a community, and gather feedback.
Before launch, his team built an email list, created a Facebook group, and collected early commitments from potential backers.
During the campaign, Dori focused heavily on communication, personally answering questions and sharing behind-the-scenes updates from the manufacturing process.
The campaign ultimately raised roughly $340,000 plus from more than 500 backers.
