Thanks a lot for the info! I was wondering where to find more crowdfunding articles~ I’ll definitely be checking some of those out.

    • CrowdCrux

Definitely! Let me know which are most helpful for you and if I can answer any questions (or research them) related to crowdfunding.

  • Thanks Sal! Very useful information – Ill be sure to take this into account for my Kickstarter campaign

    • CrowdCrux

Glad it’s helpful. Let me know if you have any questions I can help answer.

  • Laurisha F.

I definitely need help. I thought I would get a lot of support from family and friends on my project, but I have received very little. Here is my campaign: http://www.gofundme.com/70f8vc any advice is appreciated and thank you for the informative article!!!

    • CrowdCrux

Fun fact: I used to live in DC. What kind of feedback have you gotten from friends/family? You always do a two step move – just bring what you need and then when you’re making money, do a second trip with your stuff.

  • astrochicks

@laurishaf:disqus – I think it’s very honorable you want to be a judge. I think it would help your GoFundMe campaign if you explain why you want to be judge, what type of lawyer, etc. I think people will become more emotionally invested in your dreams!

  • Dan Hitt

    What a freaking list!?!

I’ve already read 9 of these articles. Just a great list here. I’ve book marked it too. You’ve put in some great hard work and I appreciate it.

29 tips from the trenches, that one had me hooked.

      😀 Welcome!

  • Ok, SO this page went straight to Bookmarks. Have queued up several articles to read today. I am about to try out a Facebook type “Spread the word” to get some more funds in, and am also on the verge of burning our demo clips to DVD’s and canvassing the schools in our area. Our product is a kids show – education through entertainment – for kids and their parents – “stealth learning” if you will. Thanks for these links – I am sure they will help tremendously. I look forward to reading more. Pierre

      Happy to see it’s helpful!

  • This is a great page!!!! very helpful. I just joined the thunderclap campaign and I hope it reaches the goal of 100 supporters.

    • CrowdCrux

      Thanks for your support!

  • Ian Wasti

I feel like i hit the jackpot with this site to ask advice from people! I launched a campaign 3 days ago and have gotten good buzz on my own networks and am now at 25% funded but i feel like i am about to plateau as my networks will be exhausted. I’m struggling to build community elsewhere for my project. it’s a non-fiction book which is fully written, i’m just looking for funds for editing and graphic design. The book is an anti-self help self help and doesn’t have any other particular niche. Any advice for building communities for non-niche publishing projects? Thanks!

  • Troy Fang

Hi, so great a page of so much helpful information! My name is Troy Fang and I live in China. I would like to ask you a question to which I can not find any answer fron the topics listed in the page. My question is whether the project presenter(storyteller) in the Video MUST be a member of the project team. Or is it also ok for us to hire an outsider to do the job? I know a team member would be better. I ask about this issue because we hope to use a female to present our project, but we now don’t have a female member in the team. This question puzzles me badly. I wish I could get some instruction on this question from you. Many thanks!

    • CrowdCrux

It doesn’t have to be a member of the project team. I have seen successful campaigns that don’t feature the creator, however, I do think it adds to the strength/transparency of the pitch. If you don’t include a member of the team in the video, at least give information about the team in the campaign text and photos.

      • Troy Fang

Thank you so much for the reply. I wil deal with that according to the important point you made.

        • CrowdCrux

          Welcome 🙂

  • Hi there, Love the CrowdCrux site, really useful information, helped me out a lot! I started my Kickstarter campaign a few days ago and came onto the site to look for tips to reach my goal, really important project for me. Struggling with networking in the right way and thought I’d be slightly further along by now. If you could check it out, I’d be extremely grateful. 🙂 Thank you!

    • CrowdCrux

Glad it’s been helpful and useful! I think you might get the best ROI by researching similar campaigns (that were successful and failed) and comparing your video/text formatting/rewards to theirs.

  • Mind if I consider you a crowdfunding expert!? Lol because I’ve yet to see a blog post from you that is disappointing or one that I haven’t learned from. Lol thanks Sal. I need to get that ebook. How much does it cost?

  • It really seems you have a passion for crowd funding as a whole. As someone who works in a helping field I admire the altruistic plane. Great tips for getting your project seen by the right people. Keep it up brother!

    • CrowdCrux

Thanks! Glad the tips and resources are helpful 🙂

  • This is exactly what I’ve been looking for, thank you so much for all of the great information!

    • CrowdCrux

  • Jonathan Sturgeon

Just discovered the site, and everything is great. Very helpful. I’m currently working on my first campaign, and I’m expecting it to go very well 🙂

  • Radhika Rao

A BIG thank you. For the past two months I’ve been researching and mainly reading kickstarter blogs and posts but my goodness…the content you have is wealth!!! I’m still working on my project and I’ve edited it a hundred times and it’s surely a task when you’re working with people who don’t have phones and email (working with artisanal community in India). The good part is I have the content and 70% rewards planned. I’d love to know your opinion and see what you think of it. How can I share a preview link with you when I’m ready, only if you don’t mind. I don’t want to post it on a public forum yet but open to a few crowdfunding gurus like you. Also, wanted to add that it’s lovely how you actually write to people when they comment (I’m not saying this because I want one absolutely…actually I do 🙂 but still, it says a lot about the person you are). Thanks again.
